Brake control systems
Electropneumatic brake systems from KES are technologically advanced solutions for direct and indirect, load-dependent brake functions in rail vehicles. Blending functions are also implemented depending on the application. In addition, the systems have extensive diagnostic options and meet the current standards for railway applications. The brake control systems from KES have a modular design. This makes them easy to adapt to different types of vehicles. This makes them suitable for use in both new and modernised vehicles of the following types:
Locomotives, passenger coaches and freight wagons
Metros
Multiple units (EMUs and DMUs)
High-speed trains
KES EDS 300 with UIC-approved distributor valve
KES EDS 300 with UIC-approved distributor valve
The hybrid braking system KES EDS 300 combines electronic brake control with pneumatic brake control as a fallback solution in a single device.
This system can control of the braking and wheel slide protection function in the vehicle depending on the application.
Electropneumatic brake control
Electropneumatic brake control
Electropneumatic brake control systems offer compact, modular solutions for controlling the brake and wheel slide protection function in vehicles that do not have a brake pipe.
Electronic brake control
Electronic brake control
For applications requiring separate arrangements of the electronics and pneumatic components of the brake control system, KES offers solutions for their control. The processing of train control signals and the feedback of diagnostic data can be done via different bus systems and I/Os. They are available as 19’ module racks or in customised designs.
Pneumatic brake control
Pneumatic brake control
KES offers compact solutions for applications that require the pneumatic components of the brake control to be arranged separately from the electronics. The modular design, with components that have also proven themselves in other applications, allows for optimal adaptation to customer requirements.
