Multifunction sensor

The multifunction sensor consists of a single channel electronic for the recording of rotation speed signals and an LED which visualizes the functionality of the sensor. The rotation speed output supplies a signal in rectangular form. Its frequency is proportional to the rotation and the linear speed.

The supply voltage is 15V±10%.
The amplitude of the output signal is identical to the supply voltage less 1.5V for high level and <=1V for low level.

The multifunction sensor with voltage output is available in two versions.

Multifunction sensor with voltage / speed signal output and with integrated temperature sensor

Apart from the normal recording of rotation speed this sensor is equipped with an integrated temperature sensor.

The sensor measures temperatures from -40°C to +100°C in the axle box area with an accuracy of +/-3°C.
The temperature values are transmitted via the bus line.
In combination with our wheel-slide protection system, the measured data can also be transmitted via a serial link.

Multifunction sensor with voltage / speed signal output, temperature sensor and accelerometer

Apart from the normal recording of speed signals this sensor is equipped with an integrated temperature sensor and an accelerometer.

The sensor measures temperatures from -40°C to +100°C in the axle box area with an accuracy of +/-3°C.
The accelerometer enables the recording of vertical and horizontal acceleration of the axle perpendicular to the direction of travel.

The temperature and acceleration values are transmitted via the bus line.
In combination with our wheel-slide protection system, the measured data can be transmitted via a serial link.

Accelerometer

The accelerometer serves the recording of the vehicle acceleration (±1g) and is used in combination with our wheel-slide protection systems.

For this purpose the accelerometer is mounted in the direction of travel in the middle of the car body.

The measured data is transmitted to the wheel-slide protection system via a serial data bus.

Derailing detectors

The derailing detectors are used fort he monitoring of derailing in passenger coaches and freight cars.
For this purpose, specific sensors are mounted on the car body or directly on the axle, in order to permanently control the running performance of the vehicle.

By means of the integrated accelerometers the detectors are able to measure the respective accelerations of two axles and to evaluate them in accordance with a specific mathematic model.

The electronic of the derailing detector can be designed separately or integrated into our wheel-slide protection system.

The measured data are transmitted to the wheel-slide protection system via a serial data bus.
